Thank you for your interest in Dr McAllister and Balanced Wellness
Dr. Summer McAllister is a board- certified and licensed naturopathic physician in the state of Connecticut. She graduated from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in Tempe, Arizona 2006. While attending SCNM, she learned a holistic approach to addressing patients’ conditions. In addition to learning the basic sciences of medicine, physical exams and conventional medical treatments, she extensively studied homeopathy, clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture.
After graduating, Dr McAllister interned with a successful naturopathic physician and further developed her skills in naturopathic medicine. Dr McAllister started seeing patients in Eastern Long Island in an integrative practice for over 4 years. In addition Dr McAllister was privileged to intern with a homeopath, who practiced for over 30 years. Dr McAllister developed a passion for homeopathy and the powerful force of true healing. While continuing her practice in Long Island, she started a part time practice in Manhattan. Many of her patients visited both locations for their convenience. She continues to see patients in New York City.
Dr McAllister moved her primary practice to Norwalk, Connecticut and created Balanced Wellness LLC. She focuses her holistic practice on addressing the root causes and using all modalities to bring balance back to an individual. She addresses patients’ health at the place they are and helps guides them forward to improve their personal wellness.
Dr McAllister believes in an integrated approach to health care. Many of her patients utilize both conventional and naturopathic care. Health care should be patient focused and use an umbrella of tools to help benefit their health. Dr McAllister frequently refers to the expertise of additional practitioners to aid in a holistic plan.
